| 1. What day is
actually the Sabbath? The Christian practice has been to observe Sunday as a day for worship in celebration of Christ’s resurrection. 2. What is the difference between the second coming of Christ and the Rapture? The second coming of Christ is also referred to as the parousia in Greek it is the view that Jesus Christ will again return to the earth in power and glory at the end of the world. Matthew 24:29; 1 Thessolonians 1:10; 4:16…… The Rapture is latin for carried off. An expression of intense religious experience. Also the rapture, a view found in premillennialism, teaches that when Christ returns to the earth believers will be raptured or raised from the earth to meet him in the air (1Thess. 4:17). 3. When does the Rapture occur, before Tribulation or after? The rapture, midtribulation view is that the church will endure half a tribulation period predicted in Scripture (Matt 24:21-31) before being raptured at the return of Jesus Christ on earth. The rapture, partial the view that some persons will be raptured sooner and others later depending on their spiritual readiness. The rapture, posttibulational view that the church will not be raptured at the return of Christ until after the period of tribulation period predicted in scripture (Matt 24:21-31) The rapture pretribulation view is that the church will be raptured at the return of Christ prior to a period of tribulation predicted in Scripture (Matt 24:21-31). 4. When people in Christ die, where do they go? We believe (catechism pg 862) in the resurrection of the body that God will raise us from death and we will live with Christ in the communion of saints in heaven. In heaven we will enjoy eternal life. A place without pain or evil with the presence of GOD. Feel free to submit questions. |
